Merit Inline Socket with Cover

Merit type connectors are fast becoming the new standard in automotive power connectors. In fact, they have been used in some European bikes and cars for several years and are ideal when size and reliability of connection are important. Smaller in size than existing cigarette lighter connectors, they also have the advantage of a superior rugged construction and higher current carrying capability. The panel sockets feature a flip down cover to resist ingress of moisture and dust, and can withstand long periods of sustained current draw (unlike the el-cheapo versions of these connectors!). We have even included a modular merit plug to cigarette lighter adaptor in our range for those people who need both styles in a single connector (like those used on popular brands of 4WD fridges and spotlights).
